West Buckland’s Cross Country runners did themselves proud, achieving overall first place in the intermediate Girls' and Minor Boys' sections of the North Devon Cross Country Championships, held here at the school last week. In addition, our runners came overall second in the Minor Boys', Junior Girls' and Intermediate Boys' sections.
Under beautiful blue winter skies, and in almost perfect running conditions, the turn out for the event was very impressive, with representatives from schools all over the region.
As well some excellent individual performances, including George Thomas, who won the Minor Boys' race, beating a field of 51 and Fi Corrick who came second in the Intermediate Girls', from a field of 25, solid performances across the board led to the high overall standings in so many of the categories.
Many thanks to all the schools for coming along and competing, and to the organising team and Year 11 marshals for the smooth running of the event.
