Sponsored Hour Raises Hundreds for Charity

care for kids

West Buckland Nursery and Pre-Prep children raised a phenomenal £848.02 for the charity, Care for Kids, by having a sponsored race against the clock to complete as many circuits as possible in an hour.

The Pre-Prep and Nursery children have a fundraising activity to support a different children’s charity each year.  Not only does this raise considerable amounts of money, but encourages the children to empathise with and care for others, as well as giving them a sense of achievement.

Care for Kids (North Devon) provides instant financial assistance for local families with a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.  It has also contributed money to make the Caroline Thorpe Ward in North Devon District Hospital a more child friendly and less daunting environment by providing toys, equipment and furniture.

The children had a sponsored race against the clock to complete as many physical activities as possible in an hour.  All the children who took part had a wonderful time and made a very valuable contribution to helping others.
