Preparations are under way for this year's Ten Tors Challenge which starts tomorrow at the military base at Okehampton and will take the teams on a gruelling hike across Dartmoor for Saturday and Sunday. Base camp has been set up and awaits the teams' arrival tomorrow afternoon.
As with last year, we will be entering two teams into the event. Team A will be led by Nathan Cambers and Team B by Jade Freeman.
We wish both the Ten Tors teams all the best this weekend, their progress can be tracked at http://www.tentors.org.uk/ Our team number is 1371 and the boys' team is Team A and the girls' Team B.
Head of Outdoor Learning, Richard Hathway, feels confident that the teams are well prepared. "They have trained in some very harsh conditions, completed a mountain training hill skills course, their Silver DofE practice and assessed expeditions and are ready to take on the beast of Ten Tors! Many thanks to all the staff members who have helped with the preparation of the teams, especialy Martin Bohl."
