It has been a fantastic few days for individual achievement at school, with pupils being selected for elite programmes in music and hockey.
Year 10 student, Emma Rawicz-Szczerbo has gained a place at Junior Guildhall, part of the world famous Guildhall School of Music and Drama, which is notoriously difficult to get into. Emma has been recognised as having huge potential on the saxophone. Emma will be going up to London every Saturday to have lessons, masterclasses and to participate in ensembles. This is essentially training for a future in music at one of the top music colleges in the country. Well done Emma.
On the hockey front, Year 8 Henry Cooper and Yea 9 James Tyson have been selected for the U13 and U15, respectively, Hockey Performance Centre Assessment Day in Taunton in June, which is part of the England Hockey Player Pathway. There are seventeen Performance Centres across England to maximise opportunity and player development. Through this model England Hockey aim to move talent development to a higher level. We wish both boys the best of luck.
