Year 12 Embark on EPQ Course

With the changes to the A-level structure, and the removal of the AS exams, students in the Sixth Form will be undertaking the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) to run alongside their A-level studies.

The EPQ, which is a research-based project, is highly favoured by many universities and employers and carry the equivalent of half an A-level.  In addition, they are seen to be a very useful introduction to university studies, developing time management and an approach to independent learning.

Our Year 12 students, embarking on their EPQ journey, yesterday enjoyed a day learning about research techniques and referencing, including interesting talks on how to construct and structure an EPQ from Emma Thompson, from the University of Southampton.
