West Buckland has been described as a “gem of a school in an exceptional location” in a recent review by the Good Schools Guide. The guide aimed at parents looking for the right school for their children and which visits and reports on state and independent schools the length and breadth of the country, also observed that the pupils were unpretentious and notably down-to-earth.
The report gives detailed descriptions on all aspects of the school life, notes the school’s excellent facilities and is very complimentary about the pupils’ manners and attitude. It also reports on how there is universal praise for the school’s friendly atmosphere with just the “right balance of formality and friendliness”.
Headmaster, Phillip Stapleton, is delighted with the report. “I feel that the school has got the recognition that it deserves. Hopefully this report will tell the wider world what an amazing place West Buckland is and raise the profile of this wonderful school.”
