The West Buckland School Choirs, both Senior and Prep, along with the North Devon Sinfonia, put on a wonderful performance of Mozart's Requiem at Exeter Cathedral on Saturday evening. The concert was well-attended and it was great to see two of the school's alumni, William Brockman - bass vocals and Ana Fernandez - soprano, return to the stage. Many thanks to the school's President, Lady Arran for introducing the evening. More photos are available on our Facebook page.

A group of Year 9 students have achieved their global citizenship awards and as part of the United World Schools charity have raised £149 for our partner school, Khe Khrom. Khe Khrom school is located in the Northern Stung Treng province of Cambodia.

Students undertook fundraising activities, such as cake sales, a 'Guess the Teacher's Age' competition and even busked before the Summer Concert hosted at the school last week. The money raised will go towards helping Khe Khrom school with resources and staffing. Congratulations to all involved for your efforts.

A video of thanks from United World Schools can be found on YouTube.

Year 12 Economics students enjoyed a two-day trip to the City of London. After a visit to the House of Commons to meet North Devon MP, Peter Heaton-Jones and watching the closing stages of a Brexit debate, the students had the opportunity to meet leaders of industry. The highlight was privileged access inside the Bank of England together with the time to question the bank's Executive Director, Lyndon Nelson.

More photos of the trip to the City of London can be found on our Facebook page.

More fantastic results for WBS Tennis with the senior mixed team playing for and successfully holding on to the Killard Levy Cup - the annual memorial match in remembrance of Simon Bridgman.

The senior mixed team recently played Blundell's and maintain their 100% record with both the 1st and 2nd team winning.

The U15 boys took on Kingsbridge School in Aegon Div. 2 playing in the Devon Semi Final - a draw at 2-2 following the singles' matches with the boys just missing out in the doubles. Well done to James Matthews, Toby Boyles, Ben Pugsley and Ollie Heath.
