Today, the Year 13s received their leavers' hoodies as a joining gift from the Old West Buckland Association (OWBA). They were presented to students by the President of the OWBA, Ian Blewett.
The current Year 13 will be the very first to login to the OWBA’s new interactive website, which will be launched shortly. This website will be a fantastic networking opportunity, engaging with Alumni, former staff and friends of the school and current parents.
It will allow alumni to find and connect with people socially or professionally, view photos and documents from the archives, receive updates and sign up for events.
The OWBA are looking forward to hosting their annual Sports event at the school on 23 June 2018.
We were absolutely delighted to be joined last night by two of our former pupils who provided us with a truly special evening in the second concert of our Alumni Concert series.
Matthew Leung (2003 -11 F) and Ming Liu (2004 - 2006 F), both highly talented and successful musicians, treated the audience to an exciting and varied programme which included pieces by Schubert, Frank Martin and Chinese composer Pei Xun Chen.
After leaving West Buckland, having taken up the flute at the age of 11, Matthew moved on to the Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance for his undergraduate studies. Since then he has performed in numerous masterclasses with eminent flautists.
After leaving West Buckland, Ming accepted a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music and has won numerous awards in music competitions around the country.
The junior drama production of Rapunzel ran for three nights last week showing off the depth of talent at the lower end of the senior school.
This was an imaginative take on the classic fairytale and the cast took the audience on a fantastical journey of make-believe.
Well done to the crew and staff who worked so hard to put this production on.

Our strength in tennis is, once again, in evidence this term, with some excellent results so far.

The senior boys 1st and 2nd teams also followed suit with good wins against Wellington.
The Aegon series has also begun and although the U13s had a tough time, the U15 girls won 10-2.
