Economics Group Get Invaluable Insight Into Life In The City

Economics 2

As a prelude to A2, Year 13 economics students were, last week, given an invaluable insight into the practical application of the subject through a visit to The City.

Former student Issy Cairns, who left in 2013, and is currently on a placement at consultancy firm Capital Economics, found time from her busy schedule to share her insights as a student economist.

Primarily the trip gave students an opportunity to visit and understand the role of the Bank of England, followed by a briefing with top investment management firm Smith & Williamson. Of equal importance was the opportunity to soak in the atmosphere and culture of working life in this fast moving sector.
