Prep 5 and 6 boys travelled to Plymouth and Exeter last Friday for their eagerly anticipated rugby tour. The weather was kind during their two-day stay, allowing the boys to take part in some great rugby matches, as well exciting outdoor activities.
After an early start from school, the boys arrived at the Mount Batten Activity Centre, Plymouth and enjoyed kayaking on the River Plym. It was most impressive seeing the ability of the children as there were some confident kayakers on the water.
In the afternoon the U10s played a very strong Plymouth College team and while the score wasn’t close the boys learnt a lot in their first match of the season. The U11s remained at Mount Batten and were surprised with their afternoon activity as they took to the water in powerboats navigating and driving their boats before the instructors took over the driving and gave the boys a thrilling ride around Plymouth Sound.
The boys enjoyed ten pin bowling in the evening in Plymouth before returning to Mount Batten.
There was another early start on Saturday as the boys set off to play Exeter Cathedral. Both the U10s and U11s were in action and began to apply what they had learnt from their previous matches. The U11s in particular showed their progression with a narrow 20-15 loss. Well done to all the Prep 5 and 6 boys.
