U15 and U13 Tennis Teams Face Tough Opponents

u15 and u13 g and b summer 2017

Our U15 and U13 girls and boys tennis teams have been in action this week in the North Devon School Tournament.   There was some great tennis played and once again the strength of boys’ tennis across North Devon was very evident.

The U15 boys won the majority of their matches and finals places came down to score differences, with Tom Whiteley and Jack Prickett finishing third.

The U13 boys played to a high standard, with Ollie Heath and Ben Pugsley as a new combination and Eddy Pope and Sammy Watts  once again needing to find their best tennis to stay within reach of the top.  After winning all their matches, they faced the eventual winners Ilfracombe A, losing in a championship tie break 9-8.

At the end of their pool matches, the U15 girls had to play each other to decide who would be winners and runners up.  Holly Crosbie and Fiona Corrick held their nerve to overcome Grace Wilton and Charlie Hall.  Winners and Runners up respectively.

In an extremely tough field, the U13 girls played in a pool competition.  Chloe Parry and Mia Morris finished a credible third, whilst Millie McLintock and Martha Macdonald retained their crown from the winter tournament.
