Following on from the county successes of the U11s and U14s boys hockey teams, the U13s have also been crowned County Champions, after a rain-soaked tournament.
The team won all their matches in the pool stages, beating St Peter's Lympstone, King's School, Devonport High, Exeter School, Torquay Grammer and Mount Kelly in the pool stages, whilst only conceding two goals.
In the quarter finals, they had a convincing 3-0 win over South Dartmoor, and reached the finals with a 2-0 win over Plymstock in the semi-finals.
The final was tense and exciting, after a 1-1 draw in normal time took the teams into penalty flicks.
However, the team proved that they have a calmer approach to taking penalties than the England football team, coming through as eventual winners, 3-2.
This results shows how strong the younger hockey teams are and we wish them all success in the preliminary regional rounds that are coming up in the next few weeks.
