WBS students were commended and awarded for their efforts at the North Devon Manufacturers Awards, held at Barnstaple Hotel on the 10th May.
Entries came from schools across North Devon and were judged by designers, manufacturers and retail experts from the industry. Comments from the judges praised the exceptional level of craftmanship and diverse range of techniques used, with all of the students having considered the environment and having used both traditional and more advanced processes reflecting those used in the industry. The standard of work was so high that the judges felt that the products had the opportunity to be sold commercially.
Angus Bardner was awarded 1st prize in his category, winning £100 and a Dartington Crystal trophy.
Nicole Tse was awarded 1st prize in her category, winning £100 and a Dartington Crystal trophy.
Jade Freeman and Sam Wong were runners-up, while Beth Cork and Nathan Chambers were highly commended.
This is a fantastic result for our talented and hard working students. Congratulations!
