There were some great successes over the summer break.
Following a gruelling selection process, Year 9 pupils Finlay, Sion, Ted and Year 11 Tom have been invited to attend the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Developing Player Programme (DPP). This is a key part in the Exeter Chiefs' Academy Pathway developing and engaging players from 13-16 years old. Congratulations to all the boys, who will now go on to be professionally coached by DPP, Academy, Club and County coaches, with the opportunity for a positive future in rugby.
In sailing, Year 12 Hector competed at the Sprint 15 Nationals at the National Sailing Academy, Weighmouth. Hector performed exceptionally well over the 8 races, competing against 45 other experienced entrants from across the country. With three top-ten finishes, Hector finished in 13th place in the overall fleet and was awarded trophies by olympians, Ben Saxton and Nikki Bonniface. Well done!
Congratulations to Year 8 Tom, who particpated in the Southern Cable Wakeboarding competition. His combined successes in each heat resulted in him winning the Rookie League with 240 points (80 points clear of 2nd place).
Our budding tennis stars have been gaining valuable experience around the South West with Year 7 Rodrigo playing in many tournaments, notably winning in Newquay, Bridgewater and Ivybridge. He finished the season as the Devon U12 Number 1. Meanwhile, Year 7 Evie has also notched up success, winning the U14 singles competition at Ilfracombe and also playing in the Devon U12 girls' county cup. The Tennis programme is now in full swing so please contact Mrs Rachel Thompson if you require more details.
