During half term, Sixth Form art students travelled to St Ives on their annual trip. They had the opportunity to take in the sites and the artwork in the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum and completed series of physical drawing tasks in their sketchbooks. Other activities included completing a range of studies, each with a specific link to art and artists of St Ives.
Taking inspiration from the 1950s Crypt Group, students are now challenged to create a name for their artistic group, create a body of work, prepare a space in the department, mount their work and finally, to create posters and invites, all in preparation for an impromptu exhibtion this Christmas.
Thanks to Mr Main, Mrs Morrison, Mrs Conlon and Joseph for organising such an enjoyable weekend for the students.
