Boarders have had the opportunity to attend scuba diving sessions, held at Barnstaple Leisure Centre and run by Easy Diver. Students are making quick progress towards achieving their PADI Open Water qualification with only the open water dive remaining in order to gain the certificate.
The course has been well delivered and various skills needed for safe diving, like kit assembly, buddy checks, underwater communication and survival skills have been covered.
More photos from the sessions so far are available to see on our Facebook page.
We are delighted to announce that the Charities Committee calendars for 2019 are on sale for £5 each and are available to buy from Reception or from Mrs Hill. All of the funds raised go to this year's chosen charity, 'Inspired by Keira'.
Prep 4 took a trip to Tesco Extra in Barnstaple where they underwent the tricky Maths challenge of having to plan a meal for four people with only £10.00 to spend. This was a great opportunity for pupils to better develop their Maths skills and for them to learn a little more about the value of money.
Pupils were also allowed to have a look behind the scenes in the Barnstaple store and enjoyed a cheese-tasting session.

Monday saw WBS musicians and Headmaster, Mr Stapleton take to the stage to perform in the Winter Concert. Students performed with gusto and the opening chords of Star Wars blew the audience away. There were a great selection of solo performances, especially those from Year 10s, Isobel B, Douglas T and Natalie C and all enjoyed the fun and relaxation of the evening. Mulled punch and mince pies were on offer to get everyone in the mood for the impending Christmas season.
