Well done to Year 8, Anna W who recently stood up and gave a talk on Sea Turtle Conservation at the Young Marine Biologist Summit, held at Baden-Powell House in London.
The event gave 12-18 year olds the opportunity to network with like-minded people and learn more about Marine Biology. Throughout the day, engaging presentations and talks were delivered by the Young Marine Biologists as well as experts in the field of Marine Biology, who shared stories and top tips on how to make a positive difference to the health of our seas and ocean.
It was a busy Christmas holidays for some of our senior rugby players, who were chosen to play in some exciting and excellent representative rugby.
Year 11 Tom C played for Devon U16s against Somerset and is looking forward to further matches against Glocestershire, Dorset and Wilts and Cornwall.
Meanwhile, Year 13s Magnus C-B, Charlie H and Isaac W were all selected to play for the South West Lambs (the independent schools U18 regional team) against the South East Lambs, winning their match last weekend.
Congratulations to all of them for some fine performances.
In response to the art trip to St. Ives during half term, Year 12 students were tasked with independently creating three pieces of art. As well as creating the work, they were also required to set the show and instruct staff on how the work should be displayed - all of which was a good experience of independent learning. The Jong Art Group Exhibition is now available to view in the art department.
