Ben – Year 9

I joined West Buckland School in Year 2, and have enjoyed every year since then. It has definitely given me the courage to expand my ideas and dreams and discover the potential in me. For me, school is a great opportunity to meet new people, become good at something and even find out what you’re not so good at!

I never thought West Buckland would be such a wonderful place to learn. After lessons end, I always look forward to the next activity. Whether its playing rugby in the pouring rain, playing my clarinet with a band or perfecting my dive in the pool. I have been lucky enough to play in school matches, which is a great experience and a privilege to be able to support our teams. With music, I’ve found an instrument I want to play and have reached Grade 5. I have also been able to go to Belgium with the music department where I had the opportunity to play music in public, abroad for the first time!

At the moment I enjoy everything about this school and hope to broaden my interests further in the future. Whether it’s art, academic or sports related, I will always be helped by the school. In older years, I am looking forward for DofE, getting better at my sport, excelling in music, and maybe even be a boarder.

I have definitely been drawn to West Buckland life. I am really thankful to everyone within our community.
