Available to all UK students, either internal or joining us from other schools, entering into the Sixth Form. Assessment interviews for these awards are held annually in November for entry into the Sixth Form the following September.
Sixth form academic awards are available for internal and external UK candidates based on performance at GCSE, submission of achievement form and interview process. Applicants will be asked to supply a hand-written personal statement, most recent school report and predicted GCSE grades, at the time of application.
The next assessment for Sixth Form awards will be held on Saturday 16th November 2019. The deadline for submission of applications is Friday 1st November 2019.

Music scholarships are awarded based on audition and interview. Assessment takes place in the Saturday 9th November 2019, prior to enrolment the following September.
Requirement: Principle instrument at Grade 6/7 and a second study instrument at Grade 4+ or a good vocal ability.
Available to internal and external UK candidates, based on assessment and references. Assessments will take place during the week of 4th November 2019. Sport Scholars are expected to play a full part of the sporting life of the school, including a commitment to representing the school in at least two major sports teams throughout their time at the school.
Loyalty to the school should always take precedence over clubs during term time. Sport Scholars will be role models in both sport and the school community generally.
Available to an outstanding internal or external student intending to study art at A-level. Assessment is on Saturday 16th November. The position comes with an expectation that an art scholar will lead by example and assist with the showcasing of art at West Buckland.
Candidates will be required to attend a 30-minute interview with the Head of Art and submit a portfolio of work which should be a minimum of ten pieces.
The Art Scholarship assessments take place in the November prior to joining in the September.
