West Buckland still welcomes new enquiries for 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the school is currently  implementing a comprehensive online academic programme for all of our students, using Microsoft Teams. Our aim is to continue to provide  this until such time as we are able to open again.

Our Admissions office is still open for enquiries for September 2020 and beyond.

The school will continue to support the North Devon community through provision of PPE and practical help, as long as it is needed.

Prep School Admissions

From Nursery to Year 6, our pupils enjoy a stimulating and nurturing environment in which they have the space and time to learn, play and explore. Find out how your child can join us.

YOUR PATH TO JOINING US

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to join us and recommend that you take the following steps to help you decide whether our school is the perfect place for your child.

Request a Prospectus

If you would like to view or order a copy of our Prep School prospectus, then head over to our Request a Prospectus page.

Take Me There

Get in Touch

We hold two Open Days during the year, in October and May.  However, currently we would encourage you to contact the Admissions office, so we can arrange a ‘virtual’ tour of the school and a one-to-one meeting with the Headmaster.

In normal circumstances, every day is an Open Day at West Buckland  and we would encourage anyone interested in joining our Prep School to get in touch with the Admissions office on 01598 760178 to organise a visit.

From here, we’ll arrange a visit and an appointment to meet the Prep Headmaster.

Registering for a Place

All children will need to be registered with the school before they are considered for a place.

This involves a short form, which you can download via the ‘Additional Information & Forms’ section below. Just hit the down arrow for the registration form.

Entrance Assessment

Whilst there is no formal entrance assessment into our Prep School, we would like to meet prospective parents and their children to ensure their suitability and potential.  We will request copies of previous school reports and, from Year 3 onwards, review their reading, writing and maths ability.

Pupils in the Prep school do not have to take an assessment to enter the Senior School.

Becoming a WBS Prep Pupil

Hopefully, we will be in a position to offer your child a place at West Buckland and we will guide you through the processes leading up to the day your child joins us.

If you’re already enrolled and completed the admissions process, then head over to the Prep School New Starter page for information packs.
