In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the school is currently implementing a comprehensive online academic programme for all of our students, using Microsoft Teams. Our aim is to continue to provide this until such time as we are able to open again.
Our Admissions office is still open for enquiries for September 2020 and beyond.
The school will continue to support the North Devon community through provision of PPE and practical help, as long as it is needed.
We'd really like you to join us at West Buckland and hope that the information below will help you with the admissions process.
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to join us. Take the following simple steps to help you decide whether West Buckland is the place for you.
We hold a Sixth Form Open Evening in October, when we welcome any current Year 10s or 11s who may be looking to join us in Sixth Form. This is a chance for you to look around our superb facilities and meet with heads of department to discuss your subject options. See our video from last year’s event.
However, every day is an open day and we’d be happy to arrange a tour with our Sixth Formers on any convenient day. In the meantime, watch the video that our Sixth Formers made of our Open Evening….
Registering with us signals that you wish to proceed with arrangements for entry. We will then contact you to schedule the Entrance Assessment.
Scroll down for our registration form.
We have many students who join us in the Sixth Form and we stipulate that students should be aiming to achieve a minimum of five GCSE passes at Grade 5 or above.
Students will be invited to present their most recent school report, their predicted grades at GCSE (at the end of the Autumn term) and may be asked to have an informal interview with the Headmaster.
NB All students need to be registered with the school in order to proceed with the entrance process.
If your application is successful, you will be given a conditional offer to start in West Buckland Sixth Form for the following Autumn. This will be confirmed on receipt of your GCSE results.
When your place has been confirmed, you will find all the information and forms you need, in the link below.
