West Buckland is a Christian foundation. The teachings and example of Jesus are at the heart of the school's life, and as a result students of all faiths or none are welcomed and encouraged.

Our chaplain is a member of the teaching staff and resident at the school. Worship at East Buckland Parish Church and within the school, is an important feature of community life.

The student Chapel Committee coordinates various activities and these include the Christmas ‘Shoebox’ appeal and fundraising activities such as cake sales to raise money to support charities such as Shelterbox, Christian Aid and Send-a-Cow.

Besides all the activity and fun, there is a strong sense of fellowship and a chance to explore how the Bible and faith can give direction for a young person's life in the modern world. We hope that West Buckland School continues to be a place where the love Jesus came to show us becomes real, a place of spiritual growth and service to others.

The school regularly welcomes external speakers to talk on a broad range of religious, ethical and philosophical topics. These have included Dr Tony Campolo, renowned American pastor and White House advisor. View the video seminar here
