West Buckland has been ranked in the Top 40 UK co-ed boarding school, based on our outstanding A-level results, putting us alongside some the best-known, and more selective, schools in the country.
The ranking of Top 100 co-ed boarding schools based on A-level results, was compiled for Best Schools, by Education Advisers, an independent body who have verified all the results across the UK and produce the list every year.
Last year we were placed within the Top 70, so this year shows a meteoric rise, for which we are very proud, and reflects the hard work and dedication of all staff and pupils in the Sixth Form.
Headmaster, Mr Phillip Stapleton, though extremely pleased, is not surprised. “To me this is an inevitable outcome following a number of factors. There is no doubt that our students have worked incredibly hard and have been supported by very dedicated staff. However, the excellent facilities that our Sixth Formers live and work in, including our Sixth Form boarding house and the new Sixth Form study area, is also a contributing factor. Students have all the resources and the environment they need to excel.”
